Determine® HIV-1/2
Ag/Ab Combo is a revolutionary, fourth
generation, rapid in vitro immunoassay for the qualitative
simultaneous detection of HIV p24 antigen as well as antibodies to
HIV-1 and HIV-2 in serum, plasma and whole blood.
The p24 antigen (Ag) is produced during the first few
weeks of HIV infection and is detectable before HIV antibodies (Ab)
are produced, making it an ideal marker in aiding early HIV
diagnosis. Due to separate signals for HIV Ag and anti-HIV
Ab, Determine®
HIV-1/2 Ag/Ab Combo provides determination and
differentiation of the infection phase and enables the
identification of acute HIV infection. Based on testing standard
seroconversion panels, Determine® HIV-1/2 Ag/Ab
Combo test detected HIV infection
several days earlier than the HIV-antibody only product.
